Our Programme

To truly benefit from the transformative processes and tools that have come about as a result of Industry 4.0, it’s essential to understand how these new technologies can be applied in a commercial setting. With the majority of our students already active in roles at manufacturing firms in Wales, we’ve designed our programme to be flexible and adaptable to suit the needs of employers.

We’re offering two variations of the Upskilling For Industry 4.0 programme: a complete MSc course for those committed to achieving a full masters qualification, and a shorter 32-week course that condenses the most important practical knowledge into two modules.

Continuous Improvement with Industry 4.0
(Certificate 40 credits Level 5)

In this 32-week programme, students will complete two modules: Green Belt Six Sigma Quality and a group project. Graduates will be equipped with a thorough and practical understanding of how the advanced technologies of Industry 4.0 can be applied to every aspect of modern manufacturing.

Industry 4.0 Advanced Manufacturing
(MSc Level 7)

Our full Masters programme is suitable for students keen to attain a complete academic qualification. This two-and-a-half year course includes a dissertation and an in-depth theoretical study into the principles behind Industry 4.0. If students prefer to study individual Level 7 modules (including Introduction to Industry 4.0, Advanced Industry 4.0 and Design for Industry 4.0) rather than the full course, this can also be accommodated.

Is Upskilling for Industry 4.0 right for me?

Do you work for a manufacturing firm in Wales? Are you looking to further your career by learning about Industry 4.0 on a flexible, supportive programme? Upskilling for Industry 4.0 could be the answer. At the moment the courses are fully funded for eligible businesses.

Our programme has been designed by experienced industry leaders who understand the challenges faced by modern manufacturers. With most of the course being delivered remotely via our virtual learning portal, you can continue to work throughout your studies, experiencing lectures and course material online while applying your new knowledge to real scenarios in your current role.

These courses will introduce people to new subjects, all relating to Industry 4.0 technologies. This will enable participants from across the Wales to develop the skills that are increasingly important to the growth, innovation and resilience of businesses. It’s important that people have continued opportunities to learn, and this excellent initiative, led by the University of Wales Trinity St David, bringing together an industry led curriculum and blended online learning making it easy for anyone to access.
