MADE Cymru is thrilled to be a theme partner at this year’s Emerging Tech Fest. The three-day event 26th – 28th January, will showcase some of the most exciting technology in Wales and beyond. This virtual event will demonstrate how the innovative technology sector is transforming lives and industries – from micro businesses to multinational corporations.
You can find MADE Cymru at our two sessions:
26th January, 11:45-12:45, ‘MADE Cymru: Boosting the Welsh economy – the power of academic and industry collaboration’
A conversation on how industry can benefit from engagement with universities, and also how we, as universities can benefit from industry engagement.
28th January, 10:30-11:30, ‘Adopting Industry 4.0 – how manufacturers are getting through the pandemic’
Join MADE Cymru in a round table discussion with Oliver Conger (Rototherm), Lynn Davies (Probe RTS), David Morgan (Avanade), Natalie Glover (Reeco Automation Ltd) & other industry experts. We will be talking about opportunities in the post-Covid world and how manufacturers have adapted to not only survive the pandemic, but to thrive.
Graham Howe, Principal Research Fellow at MADE Cymru says, “The Covid-19 pandemic has permanently changed industry in Wales – although the challenges have been immense and, at times worrying, there has also been some positive transitions. One of these is that more people recognise the important role that technology plays in industry. Not just in what we manufacture (and how we do it) but also in how we work and communicate. And, more importantly, it will play an integral part in creating a more resilient economy going forward. New and emerging Industry 4.0 technologies are being recognised and harnessed by manufacturers and MADE Cymru is keen to support this by offering industry specific courses and R&D collaborative opportunities.”
“Events such as Emerging Tech Fest are important in celebrating Wales’ technological achievements and allowing us to network with each other with the aim of exciting collaborations, knowledge sharing and inspiration.”
